Wooded Bellingham Rambler Repainted in Antiquarian Brown HGSW 0045
About This Project
Tucked into the trees outside Bellingham, this rambler had worn the same pale green for years — a color that disappeared into the forest around it and showed every streak of algae the shade and moisture left behind. The owner wanted the opposite: a warm, grounded brown that would let the home stand out from the greenery, with crisp light trim and a front door with personality.
After pressure washing and scraping to a sound surface, we re-caulked the joints and spot-primed bare areas with Peel Bond. The lap siding was sprayed in a smooth double layer of Antiquarian Brown — a Sherwin-Williams historic hue that plays beautifully against the stone wainscot — while the trim, fascia, and soffits were brushed in two coats of Creamy for clean contrast. Along the way we replaced the home's belly-band trim with new lumber where water had gotten in — protection first. The finishing move: the front doors sprayed in Green Onyx, a deep botanical green that ties the whole house back to its wooded setting.
