Why Whatcom County Homeowners Choose a Local Painter
From Bellingham to the border, we paint across every corner of Whatcom County — one local crew, one standard of prep. Our wet Pacific Northwest weather is hard on paint, so every proposal starts with prep.
Wet winters and damp Whatcom County air accelerate mildew and coating failure, especially on north-facing and shaded walls.
Whatcom County has plenty of homes built before 1978, where old coatings need careful, lead-safe prep. As an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm, our crews handle scraping and sanding on older siding the safe, legal way — and we schedule every exterior around real Whatcom County weather windows.

Painting Homes Across Whatcom County
From Bellingham Bay to the Nooksack foothills, Whatcom County homes face marine air, valley moisture, and hard frosts — every finish we apply is specced for it.
From Bellingham Bay to the Sumas border, we've built our routes, our product choices, and our schedule around how Whatcom County's three climates actually treat a painted surface. That's what local means.
Noisy Water: A Short History of Whatcom County
People have lived here for at least twelve thousand years. The Lummi held the coast from Point Whitehorn to Chuckanut Bay and the islands, the Nooksack the valley between Lynden and Maple Falls, and the Semiahmoo the north end near Blaine. The county's name comes from the Lummi word Xwotʼqom, noisy water, for the falls on Whatcom Creek.
The territorial legislature carved Whatcom County out of Island County on March 9, 1854, a county that then stretched over what became San Juan County in 1873 and Skagit County in 1883. The 1855 Treaty of Point Elliott confined the Lummi and Semiahmoo to a reservation, and the Fraser Canyon gold rush of 1857 and 1858 briefly swelled the population past 10,000 before the bubble burst. Survey crews marking the border on the 49th parallel in 1857 left a few settlers behind.
Mount Baker, Kulshan to the Nooksack, watches over all of it. Today the county is home to 226,847 people, grows about 60 percent of the country's raspberries, and runs from the border to Bellingham Bay to the Cascades in three different climates.
For a painter, Whatcom County is three climates and a century and a half of housing. We have built our routes, our product choices, and our schedule around how marine air, valley damp, and foothill frost actually treat a painted surface. That is what local means.
