Why Nooksack Homeowners Choose a Local Painter
From valley farmhouses to homes in town along Highway 9, Nooksack homes face real Pacific Northwest weather. We paint here regularly — and plan every project around it. Our wet Pacific Northwest weather is hard on paint, so every proposal starts with prep.
Nooksack sits in the open valley where weather comes through unobstructed, and damp air keeps shaded siding wet long after the rain stops.
Nooksack has plenty of homes built before 1978, where old coatings need careful, lead-safe prep. As an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm, our crews handle scraping and sanding on older siding the safe, legal way — and we schedule every exterior around real Whatcom County weather windows.

Painting Homes in Nooksack
Nooksack's small-town and rural homes take the full brunt of the valley's wet winters — lasting finishes here start with thorough prep and the right products.
Small town, honest work: Nooksack homes get the same crews, the same prep standard, and the same 36-month warranty as every Bellingham project — with no travel surcharge for being out in the valley.
Railroad Stop on the Sumas River: A Short History of Nooksack
Despite the name, the town of Nooksack sits on the upper Sumas River, a couple of miles from the Nooksack itself. It incorporated on December 6, 1912 and grew fast in its first years, with a rail station tying it to the national network.
Serious fires in the early 1900s wiped out much of the young downtown and stopped that growth cold. The town rebuilt smaller and stayed that way: 1,471 people at the 2020 census, sharing the Nooksack Valley schools with Everson and Sumas.
In 2009 a citizens group proposed merging Nooksack and Everson into one city, possibly called Nooksack Valley. The council voted it down after hearing from residents, and Nooksack got its own ZIP code, 98276, after years of sharing one with Everson.
For a painter, Nooksack is honest small-town work. Farmhouses that need scraping and priming, ranches on their fourth coat, and new builds that need their first real repaint. Open-valley weather means we wash first and wait for dry siding, and there is no travel surcharge for being out here.
