About This Project

Not every repaint is a color change. This Columbia-neighborhood cottage had a scheme the owner loved — the paint itself was just worn out, along with the front porch floor and the detached garage in the alley. The job was to make everything look the way it did the year it was last painted, without looking new-and-different.

Sherwin color-matched the existing paint from samples, and the house and trim went back on in SuperPaint satin over Peel Bond primer. The front porch floor got Loxon flat — a masonry-friendly coating that handles feet and weather. Around back, the garage building and its doors were painted to match, so the alley view holds up as well as the street view.
