Ferndale Exterior Transformation in SW 6237 Dark Night
About This Project
Years of full southern sun had been rough on this Ferndale ranch: the original powder blue had gone chalky and flat, and paint on the board-and-batten gable was peeling down to bare wood. The owner wanted to go dramatically darker — a moody, near-black teal that would make the cream trim, arched garage door, and stone wainscot stand out instead of blending in.
The building and front porch got the full prep treatment — pressure washed, seams and window edges re-caulked, the failing gable scraped clean, and everything masked off. We sprayed the lap siding in two layers of SW 6237 Dark Night, set the gable apart in Gauntlet Gray board-and-batten, brushed the fascia, soffits, trim, and corner boards in two coats of Echelon Ecru, and finished the front porch decking in SuperDeck to match. Three colors, one cohesive look.
