The Right Product for Your Cabinets
The product matters as much as the prep. These four systems cover nearly every kitchen we do; the right one comes down to wear, budget, and the look you want.
Catalyzed Urethane Enamel
This is the durable pick. A catalyzed two-part system that keeps hardening after application; the cured film handles moisture, knocks, and scouring pads without complaint.
Refinishing vs. Replacing in Burlington
Burlington's efficient kitchens are ideal refinish candidates: $3,000–$8,000 against $20,000+ for replacement, with many landing mid-range. Same layout, same boxes, completely different kitchen.
Doors and drawers spray offsite; frames are finished in place. About a week, start to finish.
Shop-Sprayed Doors, Site-Finished Frames
Doors and drawer fronts come off and travel to our spray shop, where humidity, dust, and temperature behave. That control is most of what separates a factory look from a garage job.
Frames are sprayed in place with the room fully protected. The payoff comes at reassembly, when doors and frames meet in the same unbroken factory sheen.
Tough Enough for Kitchen Life
Daily wear is the test that matters. The systems we spray keep curing for weeks after application and end up hard enough that a scouring pad won't leave its mark.
Cure time is the only fine print: two or three weeks to full hardness. After that it's soap, water, and forgetting the kitchen was ever refinished.
Picking a Color You Won't Regret
Wind-driven rain across the open flats gives Burlington kitchens cool, shifting light that changes how whites and neutrals read. We brush out samples on your actual doors so you choose colors in your kitchen's real light.
The winners here tend to be warm whites, soft sages, and deep blues, in satin. We spray sample doors in your top picks so you can live with them in your own light before committing.

What Our Customers Say
"Hilltop Painting provided expert ideas about our kitchen cabinet restoration and paint colors! They also painted our interior walls and baseboards. The team worked hard and efficiently. It was really nice that they asked us several times if we were satisfied with their work."
"Hilltop was outstanding to work with - Daniel was incredibly responsive, they did our interior walls and kitchen cabinet painting project on time (actually it was done early) and on budget, the quality of the work was excellent, and the places where we had requests for little fixes were taken care of literally the next day."
"I just want to say that this experience was wonderful. … I love the look of my new cabinets painted at my Bellingham house. Thank you so much for helping me out!"

From Logging Camp to Crossroads: A Short History of Burlington
Burlington started as a logging camp set up by John P. Millett and William McKay in 1882, on the flats where the Skagit Valley's roads and rails would soon cross. It incorporated on June 16, 1902.
The first businesses lined Fairhaven Avenue, and that street is still the heart of the old downtown, revitalized in recent years. The interurban railway that opened in 1912 tied Burlington to Bellingham, Mount Vernon, and Sedro-Woolley, and the town has been the valley's crossroads ever since.
It sits about halfway between Seattle and Vancouver, and today it is Skagit County's retail hub, ringed by tidy neighborhoods old and new. The 2020 census counted 9,152 people.
Burlington kitchens are heavy on 80s and 90s oak, which paints beautifully with a bonding primer and off-site sprayed doors.
