Why Samish Homeowners Choose a Local Painter
From shoreline homes that take salt air head-on to places tucked in the trees, Samish homes face real Pacific Northwest weather. We paint here regularly β and plan every project around it. Our wet Pacific Northwest weather is hard on paint, so every proposal starts with prep.
Salt air and marine moisture are tough on exterior coatings here, accelerating mildew and early failure on exposed walls.
Samish has plenty of homes built before 1978, where old coatings need careful, lead-safe prep. As an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm, our crews handle scraping and sanding on older siding the safe, legal way β and we schedule every exterior around real Skagit County weather windows.

Painting Homes in Samish
Lakeside and hillside homes around Samish live under heavy tree cover β moss, needle litter, and shade moisture make prep the most important step here.
Samish properties sit where the flats meet the bay β big skies, hard weather, and finishes that only last when the prep respects both. Ours does.
Island, Bay, and a Nation Restored: A Short History of Samish
Samish Island is named for the Samish people, who along with the Nuwhaha used the island and fished the channels off Skagit County. In 1847 the Samish numbered more than 2,000; disease and raids from the north cut that to about 150 by 1855, the year of the Point Elliott Treaty, which no Samish signed.
Dikes and drainage ditches begun in the late 1800s turned the tide flats into farmland and finally tied the island to the mainland in the 1930s. The Samish people, meanwhile, were pushed off Guemes Island in 1912, wrote their own constitution in 1926, and regained federal recognition in 1996 as the Samish Indian Nation, now headquartered in Anacortes.
The area today is shoreline homes on the island, farms on the reclaimed flats, and wooded lots in between, with Samish Bay and Larrabee State Park to the north. In 2015 the state named a new ferry, the Samish, for the nation.
For a painter, Samish sits where the flats meet the bay: big skies, hard weather, salt on the shoreline, and moss under the trees. Finishes only last here when the prep respects both, and ours does.
